Phoenix is dead. It’s been a week since the last signal was received. Low light, low temperatures and sandstorms killed her, but she gave us 25000 photos and 149 days of operation, versus the original planned 90 days.
Our last hope is a program Lazarus, which will try powering on Phoenix if eletrical power should become available again. Chances are the gear won’t stand the extreme Mars temperatures, but Phonenix has already surprised us before.
If this aint’ the case, we hope to meet her again soon, this time by person.
