I don’t like the missing parent arrow  in ubuntu 10.10 oneric.
Gconf-editor won’t help, so thanks to Justanotherwebblog I have found a way around this to take out the location entry.

gsettings set org.gnome.nautilus.preferences always-use-location-entry false
